The following are colour ringed Sanderling that have been recorded here on the Uists in April as they migrate north. They are all birds ringed as part of an ongoing study by Jeroen Reneerkens and the information shown is from the very user friendly website AnimalTrack As can be seen, most were first ringed at the same location in Iceland and the Finistere area in France is an important wintering/stop-over site for these individuals.
Always amazes me how some birds/colour combinations are seen more than others.
Even more so is the fact that 4 of the 6 birds were ringed on the same day and another just three days previous
