Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 10th February 2019. Updated throughout the day

Luskentyre, Isle of Harris
4 Surf Scoters (3 drakes and a *female type*) were seen in the Sound of Taransay from the beach. Also present were 140 Common Scoters, 52 Great Northern Divers, 8 Red-throated Divers, 8 Slavonian Grebes and 14 Long-tailed Ducks.

Tarbert, Isle of Harris
An Iceland Gull was seen in flight to the west of the town at Leachcan

Borve, Barra
The Parvipes type Canada Goose was in amongst circa 100 Barnacles

Eoligarry. Barra
The *White-billed Diver* was again seen from the jetty this morning.

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 08:00 - 10:20
Weather: Wind WSW F4 backing SSE F3, variable 5/8 - 7/8 cloud, bright sunny spells. Light shower. Temp 4.3 - 5C.

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 16 Eider (N), 2 Red-breasted Mergansers (S), 3 Gannets (S) and 1 Cormorant (S).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 8, Mute Swan 1, Shoveler 2, Wigeon 62, Teal 9, Tufted Duck 5, Long-tailed Duck 2, Red-throated Diver 5, Great Northern Diver 3, Cormorant 16, White-tailed Eagle 2, Bar-tailed Godwit 35, Snipe 1, Raven 2 and Rock Pipit 1

On Barra today the White-billed Diver was off Eoligarry jetty though distant as always. There were 37 Snow Buntings on the beach there and at least 10 Slavonian Grebes off shore. A juvenile Iceland Gull was by the Co-op in Castlebay this afternoon and an adult Glaucous Gull was off the east side of Vatersay. The usual flock of c70 Long-tailed Ducks were off Craigston.

Drake ring-necked duck & 16 shoveler on Loch Fada
Drake scaup, 2 blackwits, pr of pintail, 12 gadwall & 4 coots on Coot Loch.
2 slav grebes in Stinky Bay
