Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 11th March 2019. Updated throughout the day

Kilpheder, South Uist
7 Greenland White-fronted Geese were on machair. Also present were a large flock of 78 Goldfinch

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 07:15 - 09:55
Weather: Wind W F6 gust F7, variable 7/8 - 8/8 cloud. Temp 4C - 7C.

A near 3 hour seawatch this morning produced 19 Eider (10S 9N), 3 Long-tailed Duck (S), 1 Red-throated Diver (S), 29 Gannets (10S 19N), 8 Kittiwakes (7S 1N) and 4 Razorbills (S).
Also present in the are were Greylag Goose 5, Wigeon 115, Teal 8, Tufted Duck 3, Red-breasted Merganser 5, Great Northern Diver 3, Cormorant 23, Golden Plover 4, Bar-tailed Godwit 17, Black-headed Gull 1, Raven 1 and Pied Wagtail 1

As for John's seawatch at Rubha Ardvule very little was moving past Aird an Runair, North Uist in an hours watch (09.50-10.50 hours). The following were seen flying N: a couple of Barnacle Geese and Eider, 11 Long-tailed Ducks, a Red-throated Diver, 12 Gannets, five Kittiwakes and three Guillemots/Razorbills.
