A juvenile Iceland Gull was in the harbour area today

Balivanich, Benbecula
The female type Velvet Scoter was still present off shore there this morning

Counting period: 08:30 - 11:05
Weather: Wind SSE F7-8, 8/8 cloud, temp 6C.

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 45 Eider (42S 3N), 1 Common Scoter (S), 3 Long-tailed Duck (S), 41 Red-throated Divers (S), 16 Great Northern Divers (S), 3 Gannets (2S 1N), 6 Shag (N),1 Cormorant (S) and 1 Kittiwake (S)
Also present in the are were Greylag Goose 14, Wigeon 21, Tufted Duck 11, Goldeneye 1, Great Northern Diver 2 and Cormorant 15

Always Birding
Mixed emotions on finding the Greenland White-fronts had returned to Askernish, there were only 7, all adults! Eight years ago there were 70+ falling to 17 last year. Lets hope there are more yet to return
