Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 14th November 2020. Updated throughout the day

Hirta, St Kilda
The female ***Snowy Owl*** was seen in village bay today

A Ruff and four Greenland White-fronted Geese were seen on the island today

Knockintorran, North Uist
A Pink-footed Goose was seen there today

Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 08:10-11:05
Weather: Wind S f5-6, dull 8/8 cloud, light rain. Temp 10c

A three hour seawatch this morning produced 9 Long-tailed Ducks (S), 1 Red-breasted Merganser (S),10 Red-throated Divers (S) ,5 Great Northern Divers (S), 32 Gannets (S), 4 Shag (N), 1 Golden Plover (S - in off the sea), 5 Kittiwakes (4S 1N), 3 Cormorants (S), 1 Glaucous Gull [juvenile] (S) and 3 auk sp (S).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 6, Wigeon 9, Tufted Duck 27, Great Northern Diver 1, Common Buzzard 2, Lapwing 13, Purple Sandpiper 3, Rock Dove 12 and an Otter.
