Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 18th July 2019. Updated throughout the day

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 07:00 - 10:15
Weather: Wind SW F4, mix of 8/8 cloud and sunny spells. Less sunshine later. Temp 13.7-15C

A 3+ hour seawatch this morning produced 2 Red-throated Divers (S), 2 Storm Petrels (S), 90 Fulmars (77S 13N), 354 Manx Shearwaters (S), 396 Gannets (365S 31N), 1 Shag (S), 3 Cormorants (S), 2 Whimbrel (S), 1 Turnstone (S - high off sea from the North), 15 Kittiwakes (13S 2N), 12 Arctic Terns (S), 2 Great Skuas (S), 1 Arctic Skua (S), 5 Guillemots (S), 10 Razorbills (S), 10 Puffins (S) and 21 auk sp (15S 6N).
Also present in the area were Cormorant 9, Common Buzzard 1, Arctic Tern 10 and Short-eared Owl 1

Apart from single Arctic and Great Skuas there was not much else worthy of note passing Aird an Runair, North Uist this morning. No doubt due to the lateness of the hour (only half an hour or so before John's watch at Rubha Ardvule ended).
