Always Birding
A timely visit to South Ford, South Uist between the showers but the wind seemed to make the birds much more “jumpy” than usual. On the mud flats and salt marsh opposite Hebridean Jewellery there were a minimum of 9 Little Stints (seen together), 5 Curlew Sandpipers and 30 Pale-bellied Brent Geese in amongst the circa 230 Bar-tailed Godwits and 80+ Grey Plover. At nearby North Bay, I was a little surprised to find a Glaucous Gull on the beach.
On the range in amongst the 200+ Golden Plover, there were 11 Ruff and another 2 Curlew Sandpipers but I was unable to find the American Golden Plover. 2 Whooper Swans were at Grogary.
