2 juvenile Iceland Gulls and 2 juvenile Glaucous Gulls were in the harbour area today

Weather: Wind S F4, 8/8 mostly high cloud. Temp 7.5 - 9.5C.

A three hour seawatch this morning produced 2 Pale-bellied Brent Geese (N), 4 Tufted Duck (S), 1 Red-throated Diver (N), 1 Great Northern Diver (S), 49 Fulmar (45S 4N), 2 Manx Shearwaters (1S 1N), 104 Gannets (86S 18N), 32 Shag (7S 25N), 2 Whimbrel (1S 1N), 173 Kittiwakes (S), 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (N), 1 Common Tern (S), 1 Great Skua (N), 1 Guillemot (N), 3 Razorbills (S), 23 auk sp (5S 18N) and 5 Meadow Pipits (S).
Also present in the area were Wigeon 6, Tufted Duck 12, Eider 33, Red-breasted Merganser 2, Red-throated Diver 1, Great Northern Diver 3, White-tailed Eagle (adult) 1, Common Buzzard 3, Whimbrel 1, Iceland Gull (2CY) 1, Arctic Tern 4, Wheatear 1, Pied Wagtail 1, Meadow Pipit 6 and Twite 31.

A Rook was a surprise at Carinish, North Uist today.

At Aird an Runair in the late morning there were eight pale-bellied Brent Geese among 400 Barnacles, Dunlin are now starting to arrive in small numbers and at least eight White Wagtail were on the beach.

Always Birding
Back "on patch" here at Askernish after 3 months away and managed 7 year "ticks" this morning. Birds of note were 5 Whimbrel and 2 White Wagtails on Frobost beach and at least 3 Willow Warbler and 4 Chiffchaff in the township
