Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 24th May, 2019. Updated throughout the day

Bolnabadoch, Barra
The **Purple Heron** was again at Loch an Ali, showing occasionally

Barvas, Lewis
A Turtle Dove was seen there today

Loch Sandary, North Uist
The 2 Ruff were again present

Balranald, North Uist
A pale-bellied Brent Goose was there and a Black-tailed Godwit was nearby at Loch na Reivil

Loch Fada, Benbecula
The Little Egret was seen there this morning

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 06:20 - 09:15
Weather: Wind WNW veering NW F3, 8/8 cloud, temp 9C.

A near 3 hour seawatch this morning produced 2 Red-throated Divers (N), 5 Great Northern Divers (2S 3N), 4 Fulmars (3S 1N), 12 Manx Shearwaters (N), 108 Gannets (16S 92N), 2 Shags (1S 1N), 4 Cormorants (N), 10 Kittiwakes (9S 1N), 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull (N), 1 Arctic Skua (N), 3 Guillemots (N), 13 Razorbills (N), 1 Puffin (N) and 49 auk sp (7S 42N).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 10, Wigeon 2, Tufted Duck 10, Great Northern Diver 4, Cormorant 13, Common Buzzard 1, Whimbrel 1, Arctic Tern 15, Rock Dove 26 and Sand Martin 8
