Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 27th December 2020. Updated throughout the day

Tiumpan Head, Isle of Lewis
A juvenile Glaucous Gull was seen there briefly mid-morning

Baleshare, North Uist
Four juvenile Glaucous Gulls and 2 Snow Buntings were seen on the island this morning

Howmore River, South Uist
A 1CY Iceland Gull was seen there this morning. An adult was nearby at Snishival

Eoligarry, Barra
The Velvet Scoter was again seen offshore this morning

Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 08:50-11:10
Weather: Wind W veering WNW f6-7, 8/8 cloud, showers. Temp 5C.

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 10 Wigeon (S), 4 Eider (S), 3 Long-tailed Ducks (N), 1 Red-breasted Merganser (S), 2 Red-throated Divers 1 Gannet (N), 3 Shag (N), 2 Cormorants (S), 1 Kittiwake (S) and 5 Great Black-backed Gulls (S).
Also present in the area were Tufted Duck 6, Great Northern Diver 1, Cormorant 19, Hen Harrier 1, Common Buzzard 1, Snipe 1, Great Black-backed Gull 8, Peregrine 1 and Hooded Crow 32
