There were not many birds present at the start of a walk along Traigh lar beach, North Uist this morning - probably due to a White-tailed Eagle sat on a rock that soon flew off over Aird an Runair. Some ten minutes later a couple of Ringed Plovers flew along the beach followed by another bird that I almost didn't bother to raise my bins to - good job I did as it was a Little Auk (also went over Aird an Runair).

On the way back to the E of the beach came across a rather bedraggled looking Otter out in the open. I was down-wind of it and it came very close to the two dogs before hightailing it back to the beach.
