Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 2nd May 2020. Updated throughout the day

Loch na Tiumpan, Isle of Lewis
Two Common Redpolls were seen near there today

Caranish, North Uist
5 Arctic Terns, 1 Litle Tern, 1 Common Tern, 4 Whimbrel, 4 Long-tailed Ducks and 1 Great Skua were seen from Baile Iochdrach

Coot Loch, Benbecula
4 Black-tailed Godwits were on the machair there. Four Corncrakes were heard calling on the island this morning, one on the outskirts of Balivanich and three between Coot Loch and Stinky Bay

Carnan, South Uist
Two Common Redpolls were coming to a garden feeder this morning

Brevig, Barra.
My first Whitethroat of the year was back on territory today. A minimum of 3 Grasshopper Warblers are still singing night and day and 2 Tree Sparrows were in the garden first thing.
