Eyes and Ears Everywhere
Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
A three hour seawatch this morning produced 3 Eider (S), 4 Long-tailed Duck (S), 1 Red-breasted Merganser (S), 6 Red-throated Divers (4S 2N), 6 Great Northern Divers (S), 32 Gannets (S), 28 Shag (11S 17N), 2 Cormorants (1S 1N), 126 Kittiwakes (S), 1 Razorbill (S), 4 Guillemots (S), 1 Black Guillemot (S), 5 auk sp (3S 2N) and 11 Skylark (S - low over the sea). A single Pintail, 1 Red-throated Diver and 110 Purple Sandpipers were also in the area. The hybrid Glaucous Gull was in the bay to the south of Ardvule.

3 adult Glaucous Gulls and circa 1,000 Kittiwakes were seen today .

A Ruff and 28 Barnacle Geese present and a Chiffchaff was nearby in Port of Ness.

Another hawfinch on Barra today, moving between clumps of roses in gardens at Castlebay. 4 siskins, 2 bramblings and a chiffchaff were by the football pitch. Single chiffchaffs were also at Northbay and Ardmhor. Male blackcaps were at Brevig and Morghan. Many hundreds of redwings were scattered across the island.
