A Waxwing was there this morning

South Glendale, South Uist
4 Blackcaps (1 male and 3 female) were in a garden there

Weather: Wind SSE F4-5, variable cloud, brighter later.

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 2 Wigeon (S), 3 Eider (S), 3 Long-tailed Duck (2S 1N), 15 Red-throated Divers (S), 6 Great Northern Divers (4S 2N), 31 Gannets (24S 7N), 5 Shag (N), 1 Cormorant (S), 1 Kittiwake (S), 1 Guillemot (S), 1 Razorbill (S), 1 Black Guillemot(S) and 6 auk sp (S).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 13, Wigeon 21, Tufted Duck 4, Goldeneye 1, Red-breasted Merganser 3, Red-throated Diver 2, Great Northern Diver 1, Cormorant 22, Common Buzzard 1, Purple Sandpiper 4, Black-headed Gull 2, Raven 2 and Twite 378

There were 2 Glaucous Gulls this morning at Loch Stiapabhat – an adult and a juvenile, separately
A Ruff was among Golden Plover on the nearby machair.

On Barra today the Canada Goose was still at Borve with c210 Barnacle Geese, 2 Pink-footed and c90 Greylags. 20 Pale-bellied Brents were at Traigh Mhor. A Chiffchaff was at Northbay House and a Blackcap was at Creachen.

News from Andrew in Bornish

Little Egret still at Bornish in the flooded field by the Church this afternoon. Also 22 blackwits on Loch Bornish. Single pink-foot with the greylags there and 4 adult Greenland White-fronted Geese on the machair.

7/11- juvenile Glaucous Gull at West Gerinish on the flooded machair

6-8/11 – single Woodcock in the garden, Bramblings have dropped from 4 to one.
