Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 9th February 2019. Updated throughout the day.

Tiumpan head, Isle of Lewis
A 2CY Glaucous Gull was seen there this morning

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 08:10 - 10:35
Weather: Wind WNW F7 gust F8, mix of 8/8 cloud and sunny spells. Temp 7.5C

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 13 Eider (S), 6 Long-tailed Duck (S), 1 Red-throated Diver (S), 1 Great Northern Diver (S), 1 Fulmar (S), 36 Gannets (4S 32N), 2 Shag (S), 34 Kittiwakes (23S 11N), 1 Guillemot (S), 1 Razorbill (S), 2 Black Guillemots (S) and 1 auk sp (S)
Also present in the area were Wigeon 42, Tufted Duck 5, Red-breasted Merganser 2, Cormorant 19, Lapwing 60, Bar-tailed Godwit 12, Purple Sandpiper 12, Snipe 1

Species flying N at Aird an Runair, North Uist during a seawatch 10.25-11.55 hours (sunny intervals, one brief shower and WNW wind F6-7) included: 17 Fulmars, 73 Gannets, 125 Kittiwakes and a Guillemot.
