A view over the strand at Baile lochdrach revealed c240 pinkfeet and 45 barnacle geese early this morning. A search of the Machair at Baleshare was productive with 800 golden plover, a hunting merlin, 8 twite, 6 gadwall,4 shoveler,60 wigeon,40 teal, and 26 tufted duck on the shallow lochs there. At Paible there were 3 corn buntings singing, 600 golden plover, 2 buzzard, 20+ ravens, 12 purple sands at Rubh Arnal along with 60 sanderling,200 turnstone 12 dunlin,50 ringed plover and 2 GN Diver. A surprise was 2 snow buntings on the machair at the track leading to Lagan Masgeir. There were also mixed groups of linnet and twite. A male hen harrier crossed the main road nr Loch Sandaraigh.
