A decent arrival of blackcaps on Barra today. A minimum of 30 were seen around the island along with c25 bramblings, 4 woodcock, a yellow-browed warbler (Glen), willow warbler, 7+ chiffchaffs, 3 fieldfares, 2 water rails and many hundreds of redwings. The red-breasted flycatcher was still showing well at Ardmhor. A very brown looking lesser whitethroat, possibly of an eastern race, was at Creachan. The coal tit is still at Castlebay and judging from the amount of food it seems to be caching, it's planning on staying a while longer!

During a late morning visit to Aird an Runair, North Uist a White-tailed Eagle well out came from a northerly direction and landed on Causamul, there was a small movement of Kittiwakes in progress (68 SW in a quarter of an hour) and a single Wheatear was present.

Earlier at Carinish, North Uist there were 55 Redwings, a Chiffchaff and at least one Brambling.
