Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 25th September 2021. Updated throughout the day

Hirta, St Kilda
The ***Buff-bellied Pipit*** and a single Pectoral Sandpiper were still on the island today

Loch Sandary, North Uist
A Pectoral Sandpiper was seen at the south end of the loch this afternoon. The Coot was also still present

Baleshare, North Uist
A Pectoral Sandpiper was seen there today

Ormiclate, South Uist
The two *Buff-breasted Sandpipers* were again on the machair with circa 300 Golden Plover to the west of Loch Toronais. 2 Whimbrel were nearby at Rubha Ardvule

Kildonan, South Uist
A possible ***Richardson's Cackling Goose*** was reported as being seen on the township machair before flying east and landing out of view
Later relocated with Greylags and identified as a ***Todd's Canada Goose***

Lochboisdale, South Uist
A Leach's Petrel and 5 Storm Petrels were seen "at sea" from the Lochboisdale - Mallaig ferry
