• Please be aware that avian influenza has been confirmed in the Western Isles. Great Skua and Gannet are the worst affected currently but a range of other bird species can be infected. Please avoid contact with dead birds, give sick and dying birds space, keep dogs on leads and report all such instances to Defra (03459 335577). RSPB and Nature Scot are working together to collate all records of birds with suspected avian influenza on the islands. If you see a suspected case of avian influenza please email a record to robyn.stewart@rspb.org.uk, including date, species (if known) and location.

Borve, Berneray
The *Crane* is still on machair while the Snow Buntings have become more scattered

Loch Mor, Benbecula
A *Little Egret * was again present on the loch while a Black-tailed Godwit was nearby at Coot Loch.

Tiumpan Head, Isle of Lewis
An adult Glaucous Gull was there this morning.

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
A 1.5 hour seawatch this morning in bright, sunny, chill and calm conditions produced 5 Eider (4S 1N), 1 Long-tailed Duck (S), 5 Red-throated Divers (2S 3N), 3 Gannets (1S 2N), 69 Shag (4S 65N) and 1 Cormorant (S). Also present in the area were Wigeon 23, Teal 8, Tufted Duck 13, Long-tailed Duck 13, Goldeneye 2, Red-throated Diver 4, Great Northern Diver 2, Shag 8, Cormorant 14, Bar-tailed Godwit 27, Hooded Crow 2, Raven 6, Twite 68

Five Snow Buntings were with a small flock of Twite on the machair at Teanamachar (Baleshare), North Uist this morning.
