In a brief seawatch at Aird an Runair, North Uist, in the late morning a few species were heading SW including a flock of about 45 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, a Great Northern Diver and five Skylarks. I did not see that many other migrants in the area but at least six Reed Buntings were fairly unusual.

Always Birding
There would appear to be an influx of Ruff on the islands at the moment. 12 were on the machair at Askernish this morning while at Boisedale there were a total of 55 in 4 groups (25, 9 13 & 8) on the fields. There were also in excess of 150 Mallard roosting amongst the rocks at Kilpheder at high tide.
