There was a Spotted Flycatcher at Callernish, North Uist this morning. Quite a compact looking bird with white underparts so it is tempting to speculate that this was a bird from the E. Also in the garden were four Brambling feeding at a New Zealand Flax plant.

Single yellow-browed warblers were at Glen and Northbay today. A snow bunting flew south over Castlebay and a water rail and 3 bramblings were by the football pitch. The lesser whitethroat and willow warbler were still at Northbay along with 2 blackcaps, 3 chiffchaffs and 3 siskins. Single woodcocks were at Creachan and Ardmhor.
A scan from the ferry terminal at Ardmhor produced 6 slavonian grebes and 2 goldeneyes this afternoon and a male common scoter was off Eoligarry.
