This Little Egret was sheltering in a drainage ditch on Baleshare this afternoon.

There was also a Snow Bunting was at the Illeray road end on Baleshare.

Circa 50 Bramblings were seen by the water mill, Stornoway castle grounds today.

South Glendale, South Uist
2 Blackcaps were in a garden there

Weather: Wind WSW veering W F7 gust F9. Initially 8/8 but sunny spells later with a few showers. Temp 8C.
A near 4 hour seawatch this morning produced 11 Eider (10S 1N), 20 Long-tailed Ducks (S), 16 Red-throated Divers (S), 22 Great Northern Divers (S), 36 Gannets (S), 8 Shag (1S 7N), 1 Cormorant (N), 355 Kittiwakes (S), 1 Great Skua (S), 1 Guillemot (S), 2 Razorbills (S), 8 Black Guillemots (S) and 1 auk sp (S).
Also in the area were Greylag Goose 47, Wigeon 41, Teal 1, Tufted Duck 9, Red-throated Diver 1, Great Northern Diver 3, Cormorant 12, Knot 2, Purple Sandpiper 23, Redshank 26, Hooded Crow 1 and Pied Wagtail 1

On a blustery visit to Traigh lar/Aird an Runair, North Uist this morning there was an adult Little Gull and a presumed Herring x Glaucous Gull hybrid.

A count of 30 Greenfinches nearby was a good number for this location.

Ness area- 7 whoopers came in at 13.15 with 3 adults and 4 juvs. Europie to Butt produced a merlin, adult male peregrine, a purple sandpiper and 4 turnstone. On road alongside Loch Stiababhat were 6 redwings and 1 fieldfare also roost of c80 great black backs and c40 herring gulls.
