At least 6 White-fronted Geese were in Askernish this afternoon. Unusally, they arrived from the north in the company of a small group of Greylags and settled in fields different to those normally favoured by the white-fronts that overwinter here, suggesting that they may all have been migrants.

The female Blackcap and Chiffchaff are still in the township plus a flock of circa 10 Collared Doves put in a brief appearance before continuing to fly south. 14 Whoopers and 3 Goldeneye were new arrivals on Loch Hallan
