  • At a time when travel is being actively discouraged, we will not be posting any sightings that may inspire individuals to do so. We will endeavour to continue to report routine sightings that may be of interest, but not of scarce or rare birds. We thank you for your understanding and of course visiting birders will be most welcome once this crisis is over. Please be safe and sensible and follow government advice and not put our community at risk.

Despite the bad weather, there seem to be a few birds on the move now. Oystercatcher numbers have been increasing on Barra in the past few days and 3 Whooper Swans dropped in to rest on the airport beach this morning. And just when we thought it had gone, the long staying Great Tit popped up again at Ardveenish!
