Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 16th August 2020

Butt of Lewis
Three Sooty Shearwaters flew past during an hours seawatch this morning

Carnan, South Uist
An Arctic Skua was seen there today

West Gerinish, South Uist.
The *Spoonbill* was again in the south-west corner of Loch Bee. A Pink-footed Goose was nearby on the west bank of the loch

A week of good, calm weather (but pretty midgie at times!) means ringing effort since being back home has seen 302 new birds processed and 1 retrap bird. All birds were first calendar year apart from those mentioned.

New:-

Willow Warbler 9
Wren 3
Chaffinch 3 (1 adult)
Meadow Pipit 229
Linnet 6
Goldfinch 1
Pied Wagtail 3 (1 adult)

Sedge Warbler 1
Lesser Redpoll 4

Merlin 1

Retrap:-

1 Robin, adult, first ringed in the garden in 2018
