• When here in the Outer Hebrides and looking at a bird, have you ever wondered how rare it is? The status of all species can vary enormously from island to island. How rare is Shoveler on Barra, has Stock Dove been seen on Harris, does Dotterel occur on Benbecula in the autumn, and how common is Blue Tit on North Uist? Well, fret no longer! The Status and Distribution of birds here on the Outer Hebrides has been completely updated and summarised for every species and each of the main islands and outliers. Always Birding
A maximum count of 6 Waxwings still in the garden here at Askernish. Interestingly, no sign of the colour ringed bird and 3 new birds were trapped. Who knows how many there really are? A Brambling and a Siskin were in a nearby garden

2 Greenland White-fronted Geese still around Borve. 3 Siskins at Castlebay, part of a small influx in recent days. 3 Woodcock were at Creachan plus the long-staying Chiffchaff. There's still the odd Fieldfare about along with a few hundred Redwings and Blackbirds.
