Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 17th May 2023. Updated throughout the day

Balranald, North Uist
2 Long-tailed Skuas flew north past Aird an Runair early morning and a Glaucous Gull flew south mid-afternoon. A Dotterel was again in fields just beyond the campsite seen from the track towards Goular and the drake Garganey was nearby on Loch nam Fietheam

Loch Paible, North Uist
The Curlew Sandpiper was seen there again today

Benbecula
A **Night Heron** was seen at East Loch Olabhat this morning. The Little Egret was again seen at Loch Mor

Loch Bee, South Uist
The female Scaup was at the southern end of the causeway again today

North Locheynort, South Uist
A Whitethroat was there today. The drake Goosander was again seen at he head of the loch

Late news: St. Kilda, A flavissima Yellow Wagtail was seen on Hirta yesterday evening
