Tony's report for today: 'the return of wet and windy weather brought in at least 12 Iceland Gulls again to the roost this evening on the cliffs opposite my house in Port of Ness. None were present during the day, but they arrived in ones and twos through the afternoon. I first noted the assembly on Saturday 11th March, and there have been between six and twelve daily since then.'
North Uist. Once again there was not much moving N past Aird an Runair during a one hour watch this morning. Otherwise there was a single Iceland Gull and the Snow Bunting flock had increased by one to 18.
On Friday evening Alastair MacDonald saw a flock of over 60 Whooper Swans that had arrived on Loch nam Feithean. At one point they left and went over Hougharry but soon turned back and returned to the loch. There was no sign of them early the next morning.
