Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 1st May 2019. Updated throughout the day

Sound of Taransay, Isle of Harris
4 Surf Scoters (3 males and a female) were seen there today along 140 Common Scoter, 31 Long-tailed Ducks, 1 Slavonian Grebe and 45 Great Northern Divers

At Loch nam Feithean, North Uist there were a couple of Pink-footed Geese, a ♂ Ruff (present since the 24th April) and a Little Egret.

At nearby Aird an Runair, Arctic Terns are now setting up territories.

A ♂ Blackcap was singing at Langass, North Uist this afternoon and Sparrowhawk and Peregrine were also seen.
