Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 4th September 2022. Updated throughout the day

Hirta, St Kilda
A *Buff-breasted Sandpiper* was seen at Mullach Sgar today. Also present were a juvenile Knot, 3 Dunlin and circa 40 Ringed Plover. A Reed Warbler was also there Friday (4th September)

Loch Sandary, North Uist
2 Ruff and 23 Black-tailed Godwits were there today. 18 Black-tailed Godwits were nearby at Loch Paible

Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
A 1CY *Mediterranean Gull* was there this evening. 2 Ruff, 2 Curlew Sandpipers and c80 Black-tailed Godwits were in the south bay

Lochboisdale, South Uist
22 Sooty Shearwaters and 23 Storm Petrels were seen from the Lochboisdale - Mallaig ferry this morning

Seawatching from Brevig today produced the following: single Great Shearwaters south at 6.30pm, 7.05pm and 7.15pm, Long-tailed Skua south at 7.10pm, 3 Pomarine Skuas, 1 Arctic Skua, thousands of Manx Shearwaters and hundreds of Kittiwakes and a lone Whimbrel.
