From Tony Marr in Ness:-
- Iceland Gull - three at the Butt this morning and nine at Port of Ness this evening.
- A White Wagtail at the Port of Ness this afternoon
- Lapland Bunting, a male in summer plumage in the field by the hide at Loch Stiapavat this evening (news via Vicky Anderson)
- Whooper Swan – seven came in off The Minch at (20.00) this evening and passed over Port of Ness towards Loch Stiapavat. This morning two at Fivepenny and three others at the south end of the loch.
- Pinkfooted Geese, 100+ in fields at Port of Ness this morning; this evening 125 came down on Loch Stiapavat.
- Barnacle Geese, 60+ near Loch Stiapavat this morning, and a similar number left in the evening and flew south down the coast to their regular roosting place (somewhere between Cellar Head and Tolsta Head). This suggests that 40+ have left.
- Golden Plover – 200 on the machair nr. Eoropie.
