Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 30th September 2023. Updated throughout the day.

Loch Stiapabhat, Isle of Lewis
The **Lesser Yellowlegs** was again seen on scrapes by the hide. A Curlew Sandpiper, 6 Ruff and 4 Pink-feet were also in the area

North Bay, South Uist
The juvenile ***Semipalmated Sandpiper*** and the ***Baird's Sandpiper*** were still there this morning

The Range, South Uist
The juvenile *American Golden Plover* was seen at Launch Area 2 this morning. 10 Curlew Sandpipers and 9 Ruff were nearby towards LA3

Howmore, South Uist
A drake *Ring-necked Duck* was there on Loch a Chnoic Bhuide this afternoon

Castlebay, Barra
A ***Red-eyed Vireo*** was still by the football pitch late morning. A Ring Ouzel was seen nearby at Gleann
 
Barra
In addition to the above there were 2 Siskins and a Redwing at Nask, 2w Iceland Gull on the golf course, Barred Warbler still at Cuithir and an obvious southerly movement of Merlins during the day.
